One of the classic Italian courses, designed by Cotton & Harris and built in 1959, the golf club is situated on splendid rolling countryside with marvellous sweeping panoramic views across the surrounding hills and plains. Its layout is constantly being up-dated and in recent years, it has played host to the Italian Amateur Championships many times as well as to a great number of top level professional competitions. The smart and elegant clubhouse blends in well with the surrounding countryside and is the ideal place to sample the refined cuisine of the club restaurant, which has been named amongst the top ten club restaurants in Italy on more than one occasion. The club’s facilities are completed by a splendid summer swimming pool, open from June to mid-September. In 2000, Peter Alliss made some changes to the course.

HOW TO GET THERE: Take the Bologna - Casalecchio exit on the A1 motorway then follow the SSS 569 Bazzanese road towards Vignola - Maranello. Carry straight on for about 9 km. At the last roundabout, follow signs for Vignola - Bazzano and drive over the flyover. Just before the end of the flyover, turn left and follow signs for Ponte Ronca. After 300 metres, turn right for Bologna Golf Club.

The club is situated in the fascinating Sillaro Valley, with a mild and pleasant microclimate, surrounded by gently rolling hills. The course, which stretches for a total of 6,480 metres, has 18 holes and is par 72, and is extremely varied and entertaining both for experienced players and beginners. In 2006 and 2007 the Le Fonti Golf Club hosted the Qualifying School of the Ladies European Tour, and in 2009, 2010 and 2011 it was chosen for an event of the Alps Tour international professional men’s golf circuit. Since 2007 it has been accredited as the headquarters of the Ladies Federal Technical Centre, and it also hosts a branch of the famous Blue Team Golf Academy, which organizes individual and group golf clinics with modern coaching facilities, intended in particular for foreign tourists, with English, German and French teachers.

Molino del Pero Golf Club offers an 18-hole par 70 course that covers 5,480 metres and is varied, technical and fun. Set in the magnificent Apennines near Bologna, it perfectly combines the exigencies of the most skilled players with those of players who consider golf a way to enjoy the surroundings to the full. The first 9 holes, which are short and technically demanding, are perfectly complemented by the second 9 holes that are much longer and wider but equally spectacular. Thanks to the particularly pleasant climate - breezy in the summer and never foggy in winter - it is possible to play here all year round. It has a wonderful club house located in a converted hay barn and its enormous oak beams and large fireplace ensure it is always warm and welcoming. The restaurant, in the old grinding room, serves excellent quality, traditional local cuisine.

HOW TO GET THERE: the club is 25 minutes from the centre of Bologna. Simply follow the main road SS65 “della Futa” to Rastignano, then turn onto the “del Savena” road and follow directions. It is just 10 minutes from Sasso Marconi and Rioveggio motorway exits. After leaving the motorway follow signs for Monzuno and then Loiano as far as the club.

The Modena Golf & Country Club is situated in a strategic position and it can be reached, quickly and easily, from any direction. In fact downtown Modena (only 10 km away), Sassuolo, Vignola, Carpi and other interesting towns are all nearby. Spread over 100 hectares and built following a design by the German champion Bernhard Langer, assisted by the American architect Jim Eng from Boulder, Colorado,  this course is one of the finest in Italy. The wide greens and tees, the smoothly winding fairways, the large “hungry” bunkers and the numerous, extra-large water hazards make this course the ideal venue for top level competitions such as the Italian Open, which celebrated its 50th edition here. An executive course, a well equipped driving range and two tennis courts complete the sports facilities on offer. The club also features: a fine gourmet restaurant, where sophisticated and local dishes can be relished, a cosy bar and coffee-shop, two swimming pools, a billiard room, a gym and TV and card lounges to welcome players and their guests after their golfing “efforts”.

TO REACH US: take the A1 Milan - Bologna motorway (OPTION 1 – Northbound traffic from Bologna), exit at Modena Sud. Turn right, towards Modena, for about 5 km, as far as the four-lane motorway ring road “Nuova Estense”. Turn left at the roundabout and head towards Abetone, Maranello. Continue for about 10 km, as far as Colombaro. Turn left at the roundabout and the club entrance is 150 metres away, on the right. (OPTION 2 – Southbound traffic from Milano – Parma – Reggio Emilia): exit at Modena Nord, turn right onto the motorway ring-road towards Sassuolo, continue as far as exit 18. Turn right onto the new motorway ring towards Abetone (parallel to the A1), drive all the way to the end of the ring, as far as the roundabout, turn right onto State Road SS 12 towards Abetone, Maranello. Continue for about 4 km, as far as Colombaro. Turn left at the roundabout and the club entrance is 150 metres away, on the right.
